Designed to accelerate development of 16-bit digital audio SoCs based on the company's SP-3 and SP-5 DSP cores, the Audio IP Suite includes extended instructions tailored for audio applications that eliminate the need for a second microprocessor or microcontroller. The instructions use a 32 x 32 multiplier/accumulator for maintaining data integrity during encoding/decoding and full conditional branching facilities for managing buffers and data flow. The suite provides a comprehensive audio firmware library that includes complete decode facilities for MPEG Layer I and II, MP3, AC-3, and AAC standards. Other features include a complete package of post processing capabilities for sample-rate conversion, equalization, reverberation, and other audio enhancement functions. Licensing fees start at $20,000 and depend on the capabilities selected. 3DSP CORP., Irvine, CA. (949) 435-0600.
