Groomed for compact home-entertainment equipment, the STA339BWS audio IC integrates audio processing and an amplifier on a single chip exploiting techniques such as Full Flexible Amplification (FFX) that enables a fully digital stream from sound source to loudspeaker. This promises improved audio performance, reduced cost, and smaller size. According to the company, the STA339BWS is the industry’s first single-chip device to include audio power amplification and advanced DSP processing features such as MultiBand DRC. The device’s output is configurable to deliver 2x20W stereo into 8-Ohm speakers or 2.1 channels at 2x10W plus 20W. Available in a PowerSSO-36 package, pricing is $2.50 each/10,000.
