The DaVinci TMS320DM6467, debuting as the first single-chip, real-time high-definition video (HDV) transcoding processor, forecasts a 10x performance increase at one tenth the cost than previous generation processors. Tailored for video transcoding in media gateways, multi-point control units, digital media adaptors, video security DVRsv, and IP set-top boxes, the processor comes with a complete suite of development tools and digital media software. It is a DSP-based system-on-chip (SoC) integrating an ARM926EJ-S core, a 600-MHz C64x+ DSP core, plus a HDV co-processor, conversion engine, and targeted video port interfaces.
