Multiple digital signal processor (DSP) development can be as easy as developing for one chip using Wind River's new VSPWorks and its Virtual Single Processor (VSP) model.

Developers design a program as if a single DSP is used. Tasks are distributed if multiple DSPs are available. Interprocess communication services like queues and semaphores synchronize tasks. VSPWorks supports StarCore, C64X, and TigerSharc. It can be integrated with Wind River's VxWorks running on a general-purpose processor.

VSPWorks is available for $10,000 per seat.
