A DSP-based modem chipset is available that complies with the latest USB connectivity standard that's expected to be incorporated into all desktop PCs and 80% of notebook PCs sold this year. The chipset consists of the USBINT interface chip, the DSP 1675 processor and the CSP1034C codec. All three devices operate from 3V, using nearly 40% less power than earlier 5V modem chips. The interface chip functions as a bridge for transmitting data between the DSP1675 processor and the host computer's CPU.
