With GAO VoIP ‘C54x, a new voice over software package, designers of products employing TMS320C54x, the leading platform for VoIP applications, reportedly can reduce both costs and time-to-market. It achieves this by integrating modem, fax, telephony, and near toll quality speech software modules that are compliant with the industry standard required for VoIP implementation. The software can be used in access products that enable applications such as long distance calling and/or faxing over the public Internet, managed networks, intranets, or virtual private networks. The products target both the corporate and consumer IP telephony markets. The software utilizes VoIP technology, which allows voice, data, and fax calls to be placed over IP networks.
