PMC Module Delivers Up To 192 Channels

The PMC/C5421 is a single-slot PMC module claimed to provide enough processing power to handle up to 192 channels of voice and fax data using packet processing. Capable of employing up to 16 TMS320C5421 DSPs and an integrated microprocessor, the module is capable of running off-the-shelf voice, fax and data software.
The integrated processor is a Motorola 8240 PowerPC running at up to 250 MHz. It can be utilized for both packet and data processing. And a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet plus a SCSA compatible time-slot bus are available on the P4 connector.
A 16-processor module starts at $3995 in volume.
