Multi-DSP System Gets High-Speed Interface Option

Feb. 1, 2001

The HEGD14 D/A converter module introduces a 33-MHz, 14-bit multi-channel D/A interface for the company's Heron multi-TMS320C6000 DSP system. The module accepts high bandwidth DMA data streams from the C6000-based Heron system hardware and features eight 14-bit analog output channels capable of sampling rates of up to 33 MHz for single-channel operation through 4 MHz for eight-channel operation. The module measures only 4" x 2.5" and, like all modules available for the system, contains embedded logic that automatically streams data across a FIFO-based connection to the processor hardware. Heron DSP hardware configurations are priced starting at $5,300, excluding software tools, and the HEGD14 costs $2,150.
