Entering the market as the industry's first packet private branch exchange (PBX) on a single chip for enterprise and residential telephony equipment, the M825xx silicon PBX (SiPBX) complements the company's Miro M82610 processor that bridges wireless and wired networks for voice transport. The M825xx integrates signaling, encryption, packet processing and signal processing functions and processes up to 64 channels of compressed packet voice. Bundled software is tested to carrier class standards and provides a full range of wired-network voice codecs. When combined with one or more Miro convergence processors, which share a common programming model and aggregation architecture, the M825xx provides a scalable system from 16 to 2,016 channels. The SiPBX combines a fifth-generation DSP core soft encryption engine, programmable packet processor, and a user-programmable embedded host controller. The embedded host is completely available for user applications and signaling, and supports telephony and packet signaling protocols, including SIP, H.323, and H.248. The voice processing subsystem runs up to 64 channels of Mindspeed's carrier-class G.7xx codecs and echo cancellation, supporting packet-to-TDM, packet-to-packet, and TDM-to-TDM operation for up to 512 subscriber lines. The M825xx SiPBX system solution is available in three configurations: M82530, 64-channel G.7xx; M82520, 32-channel G.7xx; and M82510, 16-channel G.7xx. Packaged in a 19-mm FPBGA, the VoP silicon PBX has a starting price of $139 each/10K. For more details, contact CONEXANT SYSTEMS INC., Newport Beach, CA. (949) 579-3650.
