Offering what is touted as the industry's most millions of multiply accumulates (MMACS) per Watt and per dollar, the TMS320C6411 features a 250 mW, 1V core and delivers up to 1,200 MMACS. The device provides a 3.3 ns instruction time, 300 MHz clock rate, eight 32-bit instructions per cycle, 28 operations per cycle, up to 2,400 MIPS, and it maintains physical and software compatibility with all DSPs in the C6000 portfolio. Supply voltage ranges from 0.3 V to 2.3 V and, with the exception of PCI, input voltage ranges from 0.3 V to 4 V. Output voltage ranges from 0.3 V to 4 V and operating case temperature range is from 0°C to 90°C. Software development tools include Code Composer Studio IDE with editor, C/C++/assembly code generation, and debug. Hardware development tools are also available. Targeted applications include residential media servers, surveillance and security, media gateways, broadband, wireless infrastructure, and imaging. Price for the TMS320C6411 is $39 each/10,000.
