Tiny MOSFET Driver Pumps Out 4A

Oct. 8, 2008
In a 3 mm x 3 mm TDFN package, the MAX5078 MOSFET driver can source and sink up to 4A of peak current with a propagation delay of 20 ns. Propagation-delay matching is typically less than ±10 ns from part to part. Operating from a 4V to 15V supply

In a 3 mm x 3 mm TDFN package, the MAX5078 MOSFET driver can source and sink up to 4A of peak current with a propagation delay of 20 ns. Propagation-delay matching is typically less than ±10 ns from part to part. Operating from a 4V to 15V supply with power dissipation up to 2W at 70°C, the device can withstand transients up to 18V, and both its inverting and non-inverting logic inputs operate at voltages up to 18V, regardless of the VDD supply. Other features include a logic circuit to prevent internal shoot-through current during output-state changes. Available with either a VDD /2 CMOS or TTL logic input, price starts at $0.49 each/1,000.
