The latest incarnation of the TMS320DM642 DSP-based digital media processor operates at 720 MHz and delivers high definition video (HDV) streams in WMV HD format with a resolution of 720p. The device also supports MPEG-4, MPEG-2, and MPEG-1 formats and processes standard definition video decoding for the emerging H.264 format. Features include three dual, 20-bit BT656-compatible video ports, dual eight-bit McASP, a 32-bit host interface, 66-MHz PCI interface, 64-bit SDRAM interface, L1/L2 cache, and performance levels up to 2,000, 2,400, and 2,880 MMACs.
