Claiming a first, the Palladia 400 integrates ADSL2+/2++ and a VoIP gateway on a single chip. The device includes a 200-MHz MIPS processor and a DSP designed to process VoIP, and provides data rates up to 50 Mb/s downstream via the company?s eXtremeDSLMAX technology. It supports voice codecs such as G.711 (PCM), G.729a/b, G.726.32, and G.723.1, as well as caller ID including Japan caller identification protocol (JCLIP), call forwarding, and call waiting. Other features include support for generic voice activity detection and comfort noise generation, a message-waiting indicator, tele-conferencing, call hold, pulse dialing, and an IPSec engine with support for DES, 3DES, and AES.
