Debuting as the market's first real-time, CORBA middleware platform for Texas Instruments' DSPs, the OpenFusion e*ORB C Edition promises significant benefits for embedded applications developers. According to the company, traditional thinking suggests that it is impossible to run CORBA middleware on a DSP, relegating the technology to conventional general-purpose processor environments. The OpenFusion platform ports to a DSP via a modular micro-kernel architecture that enables ORB image sizes down to 35 KB in size. Users can achieve optimal end-product size by way of the platform's configurable-type support and selectable single- and multi-threading support features. PRISMTECH Corp., Burlington, MA.
