The HV9921/22 family of switch-mode LED drivers integrates power MOSFETs, a technique that is said to deliver high efficiencies when driving low-current LEDs. Both devices provide internally fixed LED currents: the HV9921 is set at 20 mA and the HV9922 at 50 mA. With a universal ac input, other shared specs includes an operating range from 20 to 450 Vdc, a 500V MOSFET with fixed off-time operation, and a choice of either a 3-pin TO-92 or SOT-89 package. Prices for the HV9921 and HV992 are $0.51 and $0.54 each/1,000, respectively. Delivery time is from four to six weeks ARO. For further information, call SUPERTEX INC., Sunnyvale, CA (408) 222-8888.
