    \[July 24, 2006\] Said to easily add encrypted Wi-Fi connectivity to price-sensitive, machine-to-machine applications, the iChipSec CO711AG IP coprocessor includes a complete IP stack, popular cipher suites, and SSL3/TLS1. A single command is needed to open the SS3/TLS1 socket and an additional command opens a secure FTP session. Just four commands are required to set the parameters used to define the cipher suite, certificate authority, iChipSec certificate, and the iChipSec private key. The device encrypts and decrypts data and acts as a controller that enables a host processor to use 802.11b/g wireless networks for secure data transmissions via a wide range of Internet protocols. It also supports switchable access to cellular, dial-up, and 10/100 Base-T networks. Cipher suites used for encryption include 3DES, AES-128, AES-256, ARC4, MD5, and SHA-1. For Wi-Fi applications, support includes WEP and WPA encryption. Other features include 1 MB of remotely updateable flash memory, SRAM buffers, operating voltage of 3.3V, and speeds up to 66 MHz.
