\[September 14, 2006\] Four additions to the company’s Fusion Digital Power line enable point-of-load digital power management in telecom and data-centric applications. The single-phase UCD9111 and dual-phase UCD9112 buck controllers integrate digital PWMs specifying resolutions of 175 ps. Both are configurable via a graphical user interface without having to write any software. Shared features include switching frequencies up to 2 MHz, support for 80 PMBus interface commands, and an operating current as low as 7 mA. The UCD7230 2-MHz synchronous buck driver integrates 4A high- and low-side drivers and a 3.3-V linear regulator. It employs cycle-by-cycle current limit and a low offset current sense amplifier to provide average inductor-current information to the controller. Lastly, the UCD9080 debuts as a GUI-configurable, 8-rail digital power manager for sequencing and monitoring power supplies. Prices for the UCD9111 and UCD9112 are $2.95 and $3.35 each/1,000, respectively. The UCD7230 and UCD9080 are sampling now at $0.80 and $2.95 each/1,000, respectively.
