Leveraging software and hardware from Acoustic Technologies, Adamya Computing Technologies, and Lyrtech, the hands free kit (HFK) reference design supports the TMS320C54HFK digital-signal processor. The kit provides all necessary hardware and software for creating Bluetooth and audio streaming-enabled cell phone designs for the automobile aftermarket. It promises to eliminate the need to further design any core hardware or audio software modules. In addition to the DSP, the kit includes hardware, software, schematics, and Gerber files. While the Bluetooth software, noise reduction, and echo cancellation are standard, additional software is available to customize the design, such as phone-book download functionality and speech recognition. Available in December, price for the HFK reference design is $495. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INC., Dallas, TX. (800) 477-8924.
