Meeting the challenges of multimedia, networked automotive, and industrial applications, the latest Blackfin processors—ADSP-BF542/BF544/BF548/BF549—feature a balance of higher I/O and memory bandwidth, on-chip memory, and integration of CAN and MOST peripherals. The family also embeds Lockbox Secure Technology that protects software code. Operating at speeds up to 600 MHz, the new members double the internal bus bandwidth of the Blackfin family to 532 MB/s and provide up to 260 KB of on-chip memory. Integrated peripherals include USB on the go (OTG) with PHY, an ATAPI controller, NAND flash controller, up to 152 general-purpose I/O ports, and a MXVR (media transfer) interface that integrates automotive telematics and infotainment systems through a MOST 2 network. Prices range from $11.95 to $18.58 each/10,000. ANALOG DEVICES INC., Norwood, MA. (800) 426-2564.
