ROM-based Bluetooth Development Kit Packs Stereo DSP
BlueTunes ROM, dubbed the market’s first ROM-based Bluetooth development kit for stereo headsets with an integrated DSP, provides end users with the ability to switch between wireless music playback and voice calls. The kit is based on the BlueCore5-Multimedia Bluetooth chip with an integrated stereo codec that provides a 95-dB SNR. The kit supports both sub-band codec and MP3 decoding and includes a configurable five-band equalizer. The design enables over 10 hours of music playback from a 180 mAh battery. Other features include FastStream, a low-latency music and voice codec that reduces the latency of the audio link to avoid lip-sync issues, proprietary Clear Voice Capture technology that supports both single and dual microphones, an acoustic echo canceller, and the proprietary AuriStream Voice codec. BlueTunes ROM development kits are available now and silicon will start shipping in December. CSR, Richardson, TX. (214)-540-4300.
