Phihong USA gave its IEEE802.3at-compliant, single-port power injector a facelift by making it fully functional in harsh environments, as well as incorporating a 33.6-W output that enables expansion of security or wireless networks. The POE33U-1AT midspan, which targets outdoor applications such as access points and security cameras with pan/tilt/zoom, has an ingress protection rating of 67. Thus, it’s waterproof and with a -40 to 65°C operating temperature range, can handle the harshest environments. The 33.6-W output at 56 V compensates for up to 7.65 W in wire drops to devices that may be up to 100 meters away from the network switch. The device can operate at gigabit Base-T data rates. Minimum average efficiency is 70%. Overvoltage, overcurrent, and short-circuit protection comes standard. It measures 300 by 184 by 82 mm with the mounting bracket.
