Addressing the complexity of automobile-body applications, the TMS470PLFx1 generation of software and pin-compatible MCUs integrate a comprehensive set of intelligent peripherals dedicated to these applications. These include CAN support, LIN protocol handler, and a multi-buffered SPI. They offer up to 512 KB of flash memory, optional EEPROM emulation, up to 32 KB of RAM, and up to 56 MHz of 32-bit performance at a temperature range up to 125°C. Other features include a programmable 32-channel high-end timer, RISC-based co-processor, output compare, PWMs, and a multi-buffered, 32-channel 10-bit a/d converter with a total sampling and conversion time of 1.55 ms. The 48-MHz and 56-MHz MCUs with up to 512 KB of flash memory are available in samples now with volume quantities available in mid 2007. Package options range from 100- to 176-pin LQFPs.
