In an 11-pin MLP with a mere 3 mm2 footprint, the C8051F300 microcontroller integrates an 8051, pipelined CPU delivering up to 25 MIPS at 25 MHz, eight-bit, 500 ksamples/s a/d converter, and 8 KB of in-system programmable flash memory. The device

The device operates on 2.7V to 3.6V with typical operating currents of 5 mA at 25 MHz and 7 µA at 32 kHz. Typical stop-mode current is less than 0.1 µA. Other features include 256 bytes of data RAM and an integrated comparator with programmable hysteresis and response time, configurable as either wake-up or reset source. A development kit, C8051F300DK, is also available. Price for the C8051F300 microcontroller is $5.01 each/1,000 and the development kit is priced at $99. CYGNAL INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, INC., Austin, TX.
