Chandler, AZ- A partnership has been formed between Microchip Technology Inc. and emWare Inc. to provide Internet access, control and management of systems using Microchip's PCI16CXXX and PIC17CXX microcontrollers. The agreement covers the porting of emWare's Embedded Micro Internetworking Technology (EMIT) software to the 8-bit RISC microcontrollers. EMIT is a distributed device software that reportedly can deliver Internetworking capabilities to virtually any products, including those with 8- and 16-bit µCs, without requiring an RTOS or TCP/IP stack.
