MCUs IN MECHANICAL DESIGNS-In seeking to take the lead in the "mechatronics" revolution, the conversion of traditional mechanical designs to digital and analog-based microcontroller systems, the firm has launched its "Mechatronics" educational program, aimed at educating mechanical and electromechanical engineers on enhancing their designs with first-time electronics intelligence, including microcontrollers and related components. The Mechatronics PowerPak provides a microcontroller primer, reference designs, and other support materials at no cost. It shows mechanical engineers the basic and benefits of converting their designs to an electronics-based solution. The kit includes a Microcontroller Primer, which introduces the reader to microcontrollers and describes how to convert their design to microcontrollers. The PIC12CXXX Applications Handbook illustrates hundreds of simple electromechanical functions which have been converted into real-world microcontroller-based designs.
