Intended to ease prototyping and lower overall system costs of embedded products, such as digital cameras, portable computing devices, and medical instruments, the 68HC908LJ12 8-bit flash microcontroller employs an advanced LCD driver architecture that supports direct connections to LCD modules. Also found on-chip are a real-time clock to enable power savings and a synchronous serial communications interface, virtually eliminating the need for external driver components. The chip also has 12 KB of flash memory, a 32-MHz PLL, and a 10-bit, 6-channel A/D converter that can perform a conversion in 8.5 ms. And it operates from a 3V supply. Price starts at $4 each.
