Eight-Bit MCUs Pack Program Memory

Expanding the ST7 family of 8-bit microcontrollers, the ST72324 series of general-purpose MCUs is available in several versions with 8 KB to 60 KB of either ROM or flash program memory. Like its family members, the devices include a 10-bit A/D converter and fully embedded secured reset circuitry with a user-configurable low-voltage detector. Standard serial interfaces, such as SCI (UART), I2C and SPI, are also included, as well as 16-bit timers with PWM capabilities. The ST72324 devices are available in 32-, 44-, 64- and 80-pin TQFPs and SDIP32 and SDIP42 packages. Available now, the initial members of the series, the ST72324Jx and ST72324Kx, offer up to 32 KB of flash program memory and are available in 7 mm x 7 mm TQFP32 and 10 mm x 10 mm TQFP44 packages. Development support is via the Indart-ST7F/521 in-circuit debugger and programmer kit by Softec Microsystem and the company's own development kit with real-time debugging, trace and breakpoint. High-end emulators are also available from third party providers. Pricing for an 8-KB MCU in a TQFP32 is $1.95 each/10,000.
