The 32-bit PIC32 microcontroller (MCU) family now includes devices with USB 2.0 On-The-Go (OTG) functionality and the maximum operating frequency for the entire PIC32 family now extends to 80 MHz. All members of the family gain support via the company's development tools. These include the MPLAB IDE, MPLAB C32 C compiler, MPLAB REAL ICE emulation system, MPLAB ICD 2 in-circuit debugger, and the MPLAB PM3 universal device programmer. Free source code for USB software stacks and class drivers are also available. The four PIC32 family members with USB OTG offer flash memory sizes from 128 KB to 512 KB in 64- or 100-pin TQFPs, with prices starting at $4.65 each/10,000. MICROCHIP TECHNOLOGY INC., Chandler, AZ.
