Announced as extensions to the ST7Lite series of 8-bit flash microcontrollers (MCUs), the ST7FLite1and ST7FLite2 general-purpose devices include 4 KB and 8 KB of flash memory, respectively, in 20-pin packages. The flash program memory includes in application programming, readout and write protection capability. The MCUs provide the same features as previously established members of the ST7Lite family. These include software configurable x4 and x8 PLLs, an embedded operational amplifier, auto-reload timer with simultaneous four-channel PWM generation, and a single input capture at up to 32 MHz. Other integrated features include a 1 MHz, 1% RC oscillator; reset circuitry with low-voltage detection; and a seven-channel, 10-bit A/D converter with a conversion time of 3.5 µs. Users have a choice of power consumption-to-processing power ratio via software control of five low power modes, including 1 µA in halt mode and 15 µA in auto wake up from halt mode. Operating on 2.4V to 5.5V, the devices are available in SO20 and DIP20 packages. For prices, contact STMICROELECTRONICS INC., Lexington, MA. (781) 861-2650.
