The VIA Apollo KX133 core logic chipset--consisting of the VT8371 North Bridge and VT82C686A Super South Bridge--delivers to AMD Athlon processor-based platforms the advanced performance benefits of a 200-MHz front-side bus, PC133 memory support, AGP 4x and ATA-66. The chipset delivers the immediate performance impact of the AMD Athlon front-side system bus architecture, based on Alpha EV6 technology. It also delivers support for the high-throughput Advanced Graphics Protocol, AGP 4x. In combination with the processor’s high-advanced FPU and enhanced 3Dnow! Technology, the chipset’s support for AGP 4x provides the end user a photo-realistic 3D experience suitable for the most robust 3D games and software environments. ATA-66 support amplifies overall system performance through faster hard disk transfer rates.
