Expanding the company's MCU product line, the PIC16F87XA family of eight-bit flash microcontrollers feature two additional analog comparators. The PIC16F873A and 16F874A feature 4K x 14 bits of flash memory and 128 bytes of EEPROM memory. The PIC16F876A and 16F877A include 8K x 14 bits of flash memory and 256 bytes of EEPROM. The added comparators offer external access to the outputs and programmable input multiplexing that also allow the use of the internal voltage reference. Other features include a five- to eight-channel, 10-bit a/d converter, RS-485 UART, up to 5 MIPS performance at 20 MHZ, and I2C or SPI communications. Available in PDIP, PLCC, SOIC, SSOP and TQFP, prices range from $3.58 to $4.22 each/10,000 depending on model. A development kit, MPLAB-ICD is also available, priced at $159 each.
