“Hello AI World” Demo with NanoEdge AI Studio

July 14, 2025
This tutorial demo is your “hello world” for designing with AI.

What you’ll learn:

  • How to use NanoEdge AI Studio.
  • How to build a working sensor project in minutes.

NanoEdge AI Studio, right out of the box, is ready to create a project in just a few minutes.

In the opening of the TechXchange talk about the software, I mentioned building a device that would monitor an older washer or dryer. It would monitor the vibration by making a profile or average vibration being sensed. When that stopped for X amount of time, it would send a text message to let you know it’s done. It took me a month to make this.

For the record, I’ve built this project multiple times. One was with BeagleBone. Unfortunately, my name wasn’t attached to this project. (Side note: I don’t think it’s right that I don’t get credit for this. DigiKey, hope you can add that after all of these years.)

I rebuilt it, this time using a Raspberry Pi. It was fairly easy to port the code. Take a look at my demo here.

In this tutorial, François de Rochebouët, Head of Marketing for MDRF/Central R&D/Artificial Intelligence Solutions at STMicroelectronics, essentially creates my project from scratch in less than 45 minutes.

This shocked me. I saw how easy it was. More importantly, I got the impression that I could completely trust anything coming out of NanoEdge AI Studio. The code works flawlessly without debugging. Hardware is recognized easily.

It took 45 minutes to proof of concept, leading me to believe that the final product could be made in a fraction of the time, too.

This tutorial demo is a perfect “hello world” for using NanoEdge AI Studio. Bookmark and save this page!
