An AUI-to-fiber optic transceiver packaged in a DIN Rail housing, Model 8370 data communications module has applications in factory and conventional computer environments. DIN rail mounting lets users organize cables and adapters in an efficient manner. The module performs a conversion from Ethernet as it appears on an AUI port to multimode fiber optic cables. The fibers allow transmission of Ethernet signals at distances of 2 km (1 mile). The transmission is at 850 nm on duplex multimode fiber cable at up to 10 Mbps.
