The MT8860A weighs in as the first single test instrument capable of conducting both transmitter and receiver measurements as per the IEEE 802.11 standard at speeds up to ten times faster than comparable instruments. Covering both the 2.4 GHz and 4.8 GHz to 6 GHz WLAN bands, the instrument supports all 802.11 WLAN standards with options. A test set performs transmitter power, frequency, carrier suppression, and harmonic measurements, and all measurements are available on all frequency channels and power levels. The test set includes advanced triggering and gating features as well as inputs for an external golden radio and interfering signal sources. Simplifying operation, the company's LANLook Windows-style user interface runs on any PC and displays multiple trace results such as burst profile and spectral mask simultaneously. The interface employs an open-source code, allowing users to modify it for unique test programs. Base price for the MT8860A is $26,000 with a delivery time of eight weeks.
