A new VGA resolution, 6.4" color TFT display has been designed with 300-nit brightness plus an integrated touch-screen that is said to eliminate the pixel haze created by standard touch-screens used on high pixel density displays. The touch-screen uses a four-wire technology, called Clear-Clear Touch, that features a transmission of 85% and optically smooth ITO substrates for optimum clarity. The 6.4" diagonal display has a VGA resolution of 640 x 480, with a pixel pitch of 0.675 mm wide x 0.203 mm high. With Clear-Clear, the touch surface is smooth so there is no interference with light transmitted through the pixel. The display includes two field replaceable CCFL backlights. The touch-screen is mounted directly to the display with matching viewing areas and no restriction to the display’s mounting holes. A flex tail is made of a durable metal foil plus stiffener for easy insertion to standard connectors. The assembly can be supplied with an RS-232 or PS/2 touch controller mounted to the display. Pricing is $269. APOLLO DISPLAY TECHNOLOGIES LLC, Ronkonkoma, NY. (800) 523-4862.
