Better legibility via a negative mode panel is said to be provided by the C-51505 series of 20 character x 2 line monochrome displays. Other improvements claimed for the displays include a wider operating temperature range (-20°C to +70°C), higher contrast ratio (up to 80-to-1), lower operating current (15 mA), and a four-fold increase in luminance when compared to standard displays. The modules are backward-compatible to existing displays. The C-51505 modules also support 5V operation over the entire temperature range without the use of a temperature compensation circuit. Users can choose from a range of colors. Negative mode versions have white, green or blue characters on a black background, while positive mode versions are available with different colors on lighter backgrounds. Measuring 116 mm wide x 37 mm high x 15.6 mm deep, the C-51505 displays have a viewing area of 83 x 128.6 mm and a maximum weight of 42.9g. Pricing starts at $18.70 each.
