Containing both laser diodes (LDs) and photo diodes (PDs), the OL3300W and OL3300N-02 InGaAsP/InP laser diode modules are designed to exhibit high reliability and excellent stability in single-mode fiber applications. Coupled to fiber with a pigtail, OL3300W 1.3-micron SMT module is for use in 155-Mb/s SONET systems and is based on STM-1 L-1.1/STS-3c standards, whereas OL3300N-02 1.3-micron module is for use in 622-Mb/s SONET systems and complies with the OC-3/STM-1, I-1 and OC-12/STM-4 I-4 standards. The modules also employ a rugged, proprietary mini DIL resin-filled flat 8-pin plastic package that leverages a 0.5-micron notch on silicon to eliminate the need for a condensing lens, thereby allowing for easier adjustment and alignment.
