Operator Interface Eyes Embedded Uses

April 1, 1999

Well-suited for use in embedded systems such as industrial control and instrumentation systems, GDTB-1640 operator interface combines a touch-screen with a graphics user interface (GUI). The 128 x 240-pixel graphics display features a 4-row x 5-column resistive touch-screen, with the high contrast, white-on-blue, CCFL-backlighted display visible over a wide viewing angle.Up to 16 lines of text with 40 characters/line can be displayed simultaneously. And plenty of memory is said to be included for custom images and menu structure. The touch-screen can mate directly with the firm's QED Flash Board to create an easy-to-use programmable operator interface that is only 2" thick. The interface can be controlled by a remote PC via an RS-232 or RS-485 port.
