For use primarily in minimally invasive and deep cavity surgical procedures, these new light pipes can provide lighting for MIDCAB, saphenous vein harvesting, laparoscopic and other procedures. When combined with customized or commercially available light sources, the pipes provide shadowless, high-intensity light without heat. These molded, disposable light pipes can be attached to retractors and instruments or used as standalone shapes. The design puts light where it is most beneficial, reducing glare and hot spots that can distract surgeons or other operators.
