The MT-RJ SFF optical transceivers are claimed to be the industry's first such devices in a small form factor. The new transceiver offers single-mode fiber connectivity meeting SONET/SDH long-reach requirements up to 40 km. It operates with a 3.3-V power supply to lower power consumption and heat dissipation. Designated the HFCT-5915E, the device is priced between $200 to $250 depending on quantities.
