Graphic Touch-Screen OITs Combine Power And Ease-Of-Use

Sept. 1, 2000

Three new operator interface terminals (OITs) have been added to the HMI500 series of products. These graphic touchscreens offer direct RS-232 and RS-485 serial communication to over 30 major PLCs. The HMI530 features a 7.7" DSTN display and the HMI550 a 10.4 " DSTN or TFT display. All three provide 256 colors and 640 x 480 resolution. The HMI500 OITs employ the latest in analog resistive touchscreen technology and are powered by a 133 MHz, 32 -bit RISC processor. The high resolution of these touchscreens allows system designers to create screens with any number and size of touchable objects. Text can be displayed in eight font sizes and 256 colors. With 1 MB of flash memory, the OITs can store over 200 user-defined screeens. EZware-500 software makes configuration quick and easy, the company claims.
