\[July 24, 2006\] The company's line of dot matrix, 5 x 7 LED alphanumeric displays now include the first smart displays with blue characters in an 8-character, rectangular package. About the width of a AAA battery, the 0.15" character height HCMS-2919 and 0.2" HCMS-2976 displays derive drive current from low-power CMOS ICs and can interface directly with a microprocessor. Features include a 460 nm dominant wavelength, TTL-compatible serial interface, the ability to display upper and lower case Roman letters, Katakana, and a wide range of user-defined characters, a typical brightness of 170 mcd per character with all pixels illuminated, and an operating temperature range from –40°C to +85°C.
