Designed for analog receiver, return-path cable television and interactive communication applications, this pigtailed CATV PIN photodiode features low second-order intermodulation distortion and low back reflection to help achieve the high SNR required for high-performance analog communications. The GaAs PIN device is sensitive to wavelengths of 1300 and 1500 nm to support intermediate- to long-range communications. Its wide bandwidth allows use in AM fiber optic CATV receivers up to 860 MHz. The device also supports multichannel video transmission so that several channels of video can be sent over the same fiber.
