Software for the company's Q8384 optical spectrum analyzer has been upgraded, enabling network equipment manufacturers to more efficiently design and produce dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) equipment, including those that feature Ultra-DWDM (UDWDM). The upgrade is designed to enable the analyzer to cut development and manufacturing test time. It includes more than 20 enhancements that include a new pass/fail analysis mode, a full-screen UDWDM table display, and a multi-traced display format. The upgraded software will be available free of charge to existing Q8384 owners. Availability date is November 1, 2000.
