The Actel Designer FPGA software tool features two new capabilities that speed the design process. The SmartPower analysis tool evaluates power usage, and the Netlist Viewer utility displays the netlist in a hierarchical manner. SmartPower enables customers to quickly identify power consumption problems within a component and then optimize accordingly. This feature outperforms other power analysis tools that estimate the power consumption of overall designs rather than components. In addition to displaying the netlist in a hierarchical manner, Netlist Viewer allows users to trace signals and explore each level of the design. This tool aids in meeting area and timing goals as well as in critical path identification. Pricing for the Actel Designer Platinum suite starts at $995.
