A commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) solution for radar scan conversion and display, METRO hardware and software is intended for the acquisition, processing, distribution and display of radar and graphics data on a Windows NT or UNIX platform. It complements the firm's VMEbus based systems. METRO supports software or hardware configurations, from standalone radar head monitors through to multi-function, networked display consoles. By using digital PanelLink technology, METRO can work alongside the PC's standard graphics card to leverage the benefits of low-cost, high-performance displays. METRO includes four technologically advanced modules: the Virgo PCI radar input card; the Advantage PCI radar scan converter card; the SoftScan software-based scan converter; and compression and decompression software for radar distribution. Video output is a high-performance RAMDAC for RGB analog signals, or the PanelLink transmitter providing 24-bit digital RGB for driving flat-panel displays.
