Intended for current isolation applications, the Miniflat TCMT11xx series of 4-pin optocouplers features a 2-mm profile, reportedly one of the industry’s thinnest for this type of device. The devices consist of a phototransistor optically coupled to a GaAs infrared-emitting diode. The eight new TCMT11xx devices are optimized for use in miniature products, such as PCMCIA cards, notebook computers, telecomm products, and PLCs. The opto devices are designed to ensure safety and reliability by providing a stable distance between the emitter and detector chips. Providing an insulation voltage of 3,750Vrms, the surface-mount devices also feature a transistor output and a forward current of 60 mA. Eight different CRT options are available in the family, with values ranging from 80% to 600%. Other features include a wide operating ambient temperature range of -40°C to 100°C, and a low typical coupling capacitance of 0.3 pF. All eight of the 4-pin optocouplers are supplied in tape-and-reel packaging with 3,000 pieces per reel. Pricing starts at $14 each/100.
