The LPC2478 microcontroller debuts the industry’s first ARM7 MCU with 512 KB of flash memory offering integrated LCD support. Otherwise identical, the LPC2470 without flash memory is also available. Both MCUs feature two ARM high-speed buses for the concurrent operation of multiple high-bandwidth peripherals, including LCD, 10/100 Ethernet, USB host/OTG/device, and two CAN channels. They support most static LCD displays with resolutions up to 1,024 x 768 pixels as well as 15 gray-scale monochromes, and up to 24-bit per pixel, true-color TFT panels. The LCD topology allows code execution on-chip and minimizes bus contention with frame-data retrieval from external memory. Other features include 3.3V operation, a real-time clock with 2 KB of battery-backed SRAM, and a large array of I/O peripherals.
