Limiting Amps Display Only 14 ps Of Deterministic Jitter

Aug. 1, 2000

The MAX3264/5/8/9 family of limiting amplifiers are designed for Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel applications. The 1.25 Gpbs MAX3264/MAX3268 devices have only 14 ps deterministic jitter, providing a 156 ps margin to Gigabit Ethernet specifications. The MAX3265/MAX3269 2.5 Gpbs devices display 11 psof jitter. These 1.25 Gbps limiting amps provide fully limited outputs with only 5 mV input signals while the 2.5 Gbps limiting amps have 10 mV sensitivity. All devices operate on a single 3V to 5.5V power supply and have TTL-compatible LOS outputs with a minimum 2.5 dB hysteresis to prevent chatter with low input signal levels. Pricing starts at $6.59 each/1000.
