Dual-Channel Scope Uses Auto-Set To Create Stable Display

Oct. 8, 2008
The MS420 20-MHz, 400-V, dual-channel digital oscilloscope features a 3.8-in. color LCD display and an auto-set function that ensures a stable display of virtually any waveform.

The Model MS420 dual-channel digital oscilloscope features a 3.8-in. color LCD display and an auto-set function that optimizes the position, range, timebase, and triggering to ensure a stable display of virtually any waveform. The handheld scope has a 20-MHz bandwidth and a maximum input voltage of 400 V. Five automatic measurements include frequency, cycle, average, peak-to-peak, and rms. A peak-detect function in XY mode captures 50-ns glitches, and an average mode smoothes waveforms. A persistence mode helps in observing dynamic signals. The MS420 can store and recall up to four waveform screens and setups. In addition, the scope’s waveform math function allows users to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. The instrument uses a USB interface and software to transfer waveforms and data. The Model MS420 comes with two 1X/10X probes, test leads, Windows 95/98/NT/2000/ME/XP-compatible USB software and cable, current shunt, capacitor measuring module, and other accessories.
